Julie’s Love for Yoga Nidra
Julie fell in love with Yoga Nidra in 2007 during her first yoga teacher training, and in what looked like a pyjama party, with the group lying down on the floor, cuddled up under blankets, at the end of a long day of training.
She closed her eyes and began to listen to the guided meditation … and afterwards she felt as if she had been transported to another world, while at the same time remaining quietly and blissfully awake and aware of each step of the meditation.
“What was that?” was quickly followed by, “Gimme more, please!”
Julie continued to explore this style of meditation in-depth, for herself and for fellow yoga students, at workshops and trainings in the US and in India, as she offered regular Yoga Nidra classes and workshops in the South Florida area.
Her blend of teaching methods draws on the classic Swami Satyananda teachings as well as practical ways to enjoy Yoga Nidra, simplifying the ancient techniques for everyday use in our modern world.
Her teachings are also influenced by her own personal experiences of this extraordinary meditation practice. She is particularly inspired by how Yoga Nidra brings personal insight and helps us to connect with an underlying feeling of well being.
